Fight Until The End

Alex was treated as a prisoner in his own base, he was chain as Kierbie. The Cloak society decided to attack that night to the Rangers of Justice base. Misty, an Alex´s friend, rescues both Alex and Kierbie and took them to the Ranger´s base to fight against Cloak. When they arrived the Rangers were almost defeat but Alex used all his power and he defeats his former Society. Suddenly the Ranger´s building start to explode and the Cloak Society escape leaving behind Alex, Kierbie, Misty and the rest of the rangers. Misty using all of his powers saved all of the Rangers by taking them out of the destroyed base to the outskirts of Starling city.

"Mother...," Alex said, trying to speak rationally. "If you leave us here, we will die.”

“I´m sorry, but you won’t be coming back with us. Good-Bye, my son.”

“Mother!” he yelled.” (Kraatz 266)

How in the world can a mother decide to kill his son by leaving him behind? Even Tough Alex had betray his parents and friends I don’t think killing Alex is a good punishment. I can’t even imagine my mom leaving me in that situation, I just can.

“We wait for Misty to wake up,” Alex said. After that, we head for the highway. “We need to get out of sterling city for a while.” (Kraatz 278)

Does there are any more books from this series? I can’t belief the book end like this, the bad guys scape and the good guys are save and need to despaired. I thought that the good guys will win but this author make unpredicted things happened. 

This book was really exciting and it made you want to read more and more. I will give this book a 4 out of 5 star because it was very good but not the best one. I was a really difficult to predict because everything that you though it will happened it never did. I always like the super powers series and books and this one was a great one even it was not my favorite.

Important Decision

Alex decided to go and visit Kierbie again in Victory Park where he started talking to her and Alex start to really think in changing to the rangers and he had start to be Kierbie’s friend. Kierbie persuade to stop being a super villain but Alex was not sure to betray his people. The next morning Alex had a meeting that was about the attack to the Rangers of Justice that was being move to the next week. Alex decided to betray his teammates by telling Kierbie this news, but when Alex start talking all the Cloak Society was at Victory Park to capture them.

“Our attack on the Ranger had been moved. We will be taking Justice Tower in one week.”                                                     

Alex felt like all the air had been sucked out of the War Room.” (Kraatz 196)

Alex had made a friend that is his enemy just as Romeo and Juliet. Alex is starting to have special concerend for Kierbie and that’s why he is so weired.

“Alex opened his mouth to speak, when he felt his arm start to tingle like a sleeping limb coming back to life. The sensation quickly concentrated itself in his right palm, which began to freeze.” (Kraatz 221)

This always happened. When something important is about to be said something happened and the important thing is never said. I had here this happen in a couple of movies.

This book is full of surprising events that you won’t never imagine. I am really liking the suspense that the author is giving to the story and all the ends of the chapters are making the book to be open to any continue. The theme of this book is really good but strange.  I can predict that Alex will betray his team mates and he will go to the Rangers of Justice.  I do want to know what will happened later.

Super Powers

The next day after being at the mall, Alex went to train his powers at cloak base. In that training he discover that his powers worked when he was in danger and not when he want them to work. That night Alex decide to secretly use the base deported to talk to Kierbie again in Victory Park. When Alex saw Kierbie he start to lie by telling her that he will betray Cloak and go with The Rangers. Alex wanted to have some information that will help Cloak in the attack to the Rangers. The next day Alex trained with the Beta team and that was when he demonstrate that he was very powerful by burying half of Titan into the ground by using all his mental force.

“This box that you couldn’t lift weighed twenty pounds, at most.”“It doesn’t make any sense,” Alex said, still trying to wrap his mind around what he was seeing. “I tried as hard as I could.” 

(Kraatz 133)

In this quote Alex can’t lift a small box with his powers and I know that he had lifted objects as heavy as a person when he is in danger, so I infer that Alex´s powers only work well when he feels fear. This will make sense because during the fight with the Rangers of justice he lifted and saved Kierbie’s life because he felt fear for her to die.

“Still focused on Titan´s body, he pushed down on it with his mind. Titan shook his head, trying to figure out what was happening as Alex pressed him down farther into the earth.

Alex took all the feeling of anger and shame and poured them into his powers.”  (Kraatz 170)

This quote just correct my point because Alex is thinking on shame and anger feeling to became more powerful and burying Titan into the ground. Alex is being more powerful because each time his powers, Alex knows that he need to be  angry and he is thinking on things that make him angry to make stronger his powers. 
                                                                        

 This chapters had had in them a lot of information that explains better the book.  I can see that the author is explaining that Alex is very powerful but he just need to get his powers out of him. I can predict that Alex is going to be more powerful that what he is right now because he is still in training. I am really liking this book story, characters and its surprises.                                                           

Thursday of Surprice, Thursday of Lies

On the chapters that I have read the beta team is integrated by 4 members: Mallory, a girl who control climate, Titan, an steel boy, Julie, a girl who can transform his form into hard diamond and Alex the telepathic. All of them had a special superpower training each day and a tutor who taught them history. On Thursday the beta team could go to a shopping mall to spend some time. There Alex run into one of the enemy from the junior rangers who was called Kirbie. She tried to fight him but Alex told her that he wanted to betray Cloak, but this was a lie. After Kirbie was foolish she told Alex that she will be patrolling Victory Park on night so that they could see again.

"So on Saturdays afternoons, Alex and his team mates were left on their own devices in the city for a few hours while the adults took care of business.”(Kraatz 92)

What I first did when I read this quote was make a connection because this is the only day the beta team was on city and it was a special day and for me Fridays are does days. Then I also realize that they were villains and they could be recognize easily. And what I also wandered was what could this teenagers do on a shopping?

“Because I’m thinking of leaving the Cloak Society”, Alex lied. He didn’t realize what a perfect excuse this was until after the words had left his mouth.”(Kraatz 103)

Will Kirbie believe in this lie? Maybe she can think that Alex is saying the truth but what if she realize that Alex’s answer was a lie. If I will be in real trouble like Alex was I will probably lie a little bit even though my lie will not be as perfect as Alex. 

This story is being very descriptively in the characters and settings. I think that Alex will try to find Kirbie to get some Rangers information. I think that the author could improve the story by adding more dialog because there is too much explaining compared to dialogue. I am so desperate to see the continue of this book and what will next Alex´s training will be. 

Great Beginning

The book that I have chosen to read for this partial is the Cloak Society. This book stared explaining that the cloak society is a group of super villains that have powers and they were stealing a diamond from a bank in Sterling city. Alex a ,14 years old boy, who has telekinetic powers and is part of the Beta Team, a group of young super villains inside cloak society that was in the mission with 2 adults that will supervise them. As they were at the bank a group of superheroes called Rangers of justice arrive to confront them. The cloak villains had distract the rangers and them scape on a black shadow that was like a vehicle to return to their secret base. In the base the cloak society discuss what had happened on the bank and decide to attack the ranger when the beta team is prepared.

“With a gust of air the wall of shadows fell over the huddled Cloak members, crashing like a dark wave. It hit the ground, surged forward a few inches, and then sprang back against the side of the bank, sleeping into the corners. The Cloak Society was gone.”(Kraatz 32)

Where did they went? Is that a teleporter machine or something similar? I will definitely want one of does. I use this shadow in a lot of situations, especially in awkward moments. 

“Instinctively, he raised his hands, pushing energy towards the object, caucusing it to slow and eventually stopped, hanging just inches from his nose.” (Kraatz 17)

Alex has super powers that are as extraordinary as the shadow. I knew that Alex had powers but not this extraordinary ones. I’m really liking all the surprises I can found in this book. What I don’t know is if the energy that Alex emit is transparent or if it have color? 

I am really enjoying all the powers and magical things and powers there are in the story. I also like the fact that the primary character is not a superhero and it had teammates. Another thing that I like about this book is that the author had created a story from where the super villains come from. I really want to see what the plan to attack the Rangers is and what other fights will they have. I can absolutely affirm they I love this book. I am really in the story and I don’t want to stop reading.
