A Great Book

This weeks chapters start when Matt discovered that the thing that cut Dravids' head off was a dinosaur fossil. As Matt and the journalist scape the ribs of a big dinosaur trapped the journalist named Richard. Mrs.Deverill appeared and took Matt and Richard to an abandon power station were the villagers were trying to open the Ravens Gate. The last step of the ritual to open the gate was to kill Matt but when Matt was about to be killed his powers appeared and he stop the knife that was going to kill him. Matt and Richard scape from the power station that blow up. Finally an agent that worked with Dravid went to Richards house and told them that Matt was going to stay with him and also that on Peru was another Ravens Gate.

"A pterodactyl. Except that it wasn't quite a pterodactyl. It was the fossil skeleton of a pterodactyl, an x-ray version, weird together and put on display at the Natural History Museum."(Horowitz 200)

A dinosaur skeleton alive? I think that this was too much imagination. I don't like the fact that a fossil takes lives, I think this is the only thing I don't like about the book.

"I live on Lima. In Peru. It is the reason why I was chosen to visit you today. There is evidence that another gate exists in my country. It may be that I have to invite you there." (Horowitz 253)

Uh oh... When I first read this, my first thought was about a next book. Then I thought about the story and I got worried because Matt didn't want to destroy Ravens Gate again. If there is a next book I don't know if Matt is going to be the protagonist again or maybe another kid with powers will be the protagonist. I have lots of questions to make and I will love to read a second book.

This book was awesome. I loved it but the only think I didn't liked was when the dinosaurs fossils were alive. I will recommend this book to the people that like suspense because the story gives you hints of what will happened later and it is very difficult to make a prediction. This book is a page-turner because it is very difficult to stop reading. each time that I make a pause on the story to make a post I got anxious because I want to continue with the reading.

I Dont Get It

This weeks chapters started at the journalist house were Matt told him that he had special powers. Matt convinced the journalist to help him investigate what was ravens gate, so the went to Ms.Ashwood´s house. She told them that they need to go with Dravid that was an expert with the Ravens gate. Dravid told them that the Ravens gate was a gate that leads you to the world of bad spirits and if the gate opens the spirits will come to the world. Dravid want to take them to the secret agency but when he was about to open a locked door an invisible thing cut his head off and Matt and the journalist were trapped with it.

"And then was the question of his own powers. He had seen the car accident that had killed his parents before it happened. It was the reason he was still alive." (Horowitz 166).

Matt had seen his parents car accident, why was he the only one alive? Why he didn't warned them?  I don't understand why he hadn't even try  to help even do he has powers. I have seen movies abouts kids that have no parents but nothing similar to this.

"He stopped and let that hand fall and, with a gasp of horror, Matt saw a terrible wound- a gasping horizontal line, perhaps cut with a sword- across Dravid´s neck." (Horowitz 196).

That was the last part of the last chapter for this week and I don't want to continue reading. I don't have any guess of what could happened since the author had add to this story unbelievable events and everything could happened. I don't know what the invisible thing was but Matt and the journalist are in trouble because they are locked with that thing. I believe that the author shouldn't add more surprises because he had add them all trough the story. This last thing seem to be enough.

I don't understand the author because he makes the story more exiting by adding things that are to exaggerated. I loved how this part of the novel ended even though he exaggerated a little bit. After all the unpredictably thing that had happened I can't imagine what will come later. I don't know what surprises will come next but I expect not to be so overdone.
