More Strange Things

Summary
This week's reading started in a meeting were all the keepers or supervisors got together and decide that Thomas will spend a day in a cell for disobeying and he will become a runner. Thomas was really excited with this idea that he did not mind his punishment, after the cell he went to visit Alby who was better and had recover his memory. When Alby tried to tell Thomas about what he remembered he start killing himself and Newt saved him. Thomas also visited the girl who he recognize: she was called Teresa. The next day Thomas and Minho found a Griever during the day and they followed him until it jumped into a cliff and banished. Thomas and Minho start searching the place where the Griever disappeared, they through start throwing rocks to the cliff until one rock just disappeared.

Interesting Thoughts Throughout The Book
“Minho looked at Thomas. ‘I nominate this shank to replace me as a keeper of the Runners.’” (Dashner 158).

Really, is this serious? I cannot believe how Thomas could earn the respect from a keeping in just a night. Thomas has not been in the Glade for more than a week and he is being nominated as a keeper. He is just awesome.

“‘I’m sorry, Newt,’ he whispered. ‘Don’t know what happened. It was like… something was controlling my body. I’m sorry…’
…‘Sorries, nothing,’ Newt replied. ‘You were trying to bloody kill yourself.’ ” (Dashner 174).

How could this happened? This is the strangest place I ever knew, there is a maze, people do not have memory, there are monsters, and now there is something that control people. I do not know what else could happened to make this thing even stranger. I do like these mysterious and strange things because it makes you want to keep on reading.

Final Ideas And Conclusions

I just like this book more and more each time I read it. I like everything that happens in this story. It has lots suspense and secrets that makes you want to continue turning the page. I really like the clues the author gives. I do not know if I could ever have a right prediction but I think that someone in the glade will jump to the place where the rock disappeared to discover what it is.

Keeps Getting Better

Summary
In the chapters that I read for this post, Thomas met with the leader of the runners called Minho and he informed that a Griever was death in the maze. Alby and Minho went in the maze to investigate but they arrive when the maze door was closing. Alby was barely walking and Minho was carrying him, in the moment the door was shutting for the night, Thomas decides to enter the maze and help them. When the doors were, closed Thomas hung Alby in a wall with vines and run from the Grievers. Minho appeared to help, both of them made four Grievers fall through a cliff, and they survived the night.

Interesting Thoughts Throughout The Book
‘I found a dead one.’
‘Huh?’ Alby asked. ‘A dead what?’
Minho smiled. ‘A dead Griever.’” (Dashner 84)

Wow! Who it is possible that a Griever is dead? I did not imagine that they just die or that they kill each other. Does this means that grievers will just start dyeing? Because if they do it will be easier for Gladers to discover the way out of the maze.

“Their faces showed complete awe, as if they were watching two ghosts strolling through a graveyard. Thomas knew it was because they’d accomplished something never done before, but he was embarrassed by the attention” (Dashner 144)

It will be awesome to been observed with fear or like you are something strange, because you had accomplished something that no one had done before. When I read this, I liked that Thomas was being the center of attention but I was confused because I thought that people would be happy with Thomas and will see him as a hero. I do not know why they have fear of him.

Final Ideas and Conclusions
The chapters that I had read for this week had being pretty excited. The part where I could not stop reading was when Thomas was trapped inside the maze with the grievers. This book is getting better as I keep on reading. I have many predictions of what happened next in the book could but I am sure that I will be wrong because this book is unpredictable. Everything could happened. I really like this book and I want to continue reading.

A Great Summer

Summary
This summer I had to read and blog about The Maze Runner by James Dashner. This story started when a teen named Thomas arrived to an estrange place, he only remember his name. This strange place was called the Glade; it was a big courtyard surrounded by big walls that had four Stone doors, in the other side of the walls there was an enormous maze. There were many people in the glade, only man and they only knew their names, Alby and Newt were in charge and Chuck become Thomas´ best friend. The next day from his arrival Alby explained Thomas how everything worked in the Glade and the dangers that existed, he showed Thomas a mix of animal and machine creature the size of a cow with a saw blade, rods and a set of shears. In the middle of the trip something strange happened, someone new arrive to the Glade, it was a girl, she arrived just the next day that Thomas did, and she carried a massage: “She´s the last one. Ever.” (Dashner 57). In the afternoon Thomas decided to explore and a person who he had seen sick the last day attack him, for his luck Alby helped him.

Interesting Thought Throughout The Book
“A twisted, pale figure writhing in agony, chest bare and hideous. Tight, rigid cords of sickly green veins webbed across the boy’s body and limbs, like ropes under his skin. Purplish bruises covered the kid, red hives, bloody scratches.” (Dashner 20).

I cannot imagine being in Thomas place, to fell alone, to have no answers, to be scared and now he sees a sick person and imagining what could happened to him. If I see a person like that, I will not sleep for days in a place like that. I do not know how Thomas could had the guts to sleep that firs night.

“‘He is not one of us!’ Ben Shouted. ‘I saw him-he´s…he’s bad. We have to kill him! Let me gut him!’” (Dashner 72)

When Ben shouts this to Alby trying to kill Thomas, I was surprises: How is it possible that the man who was sick in bed the last day can be recovered? And a man that have no memories at all can say that Thomas is a bad guy? I really like this secrets and suspense that the author is adding; it makes me wanting to read more and more.

Final Ideas and Conclusions
I am definitely going to have a great summer reading this book. I have to admit that I has a hard time at the beginning of this book understanding the characters but when I figure it out, I found this story interesting and addicting. After reading a bunch of books that had not being good this is finally a great beginning of story. I really like the suspense that the story has explanations that are not at the beginning so that the audience can make predictions. I am sure that this next part of the story will not him long because of the interesting the story is.
