Lots of Mysteries Unsolved

Summary
In the final chapters of Lockdown Alex discovers that the way to create explosion was to get gas from the kitchen into plastic gloves and then with a lighter create an explosion. They started executing the plan but Gary challenges Alex into a fight. To save Alex live they told Gary not to fight and we will get out too. The day before the escape Donovan was taken by the black suits to be used as an experiment. They continued the plan but when they were getting a black suit appeared, but Monty, who had become a monster, appeared and killed the black suit and escape with Alex, Zee, and Gary.

Interesting Thoughts Throughout The Book
“ ‘He didnt fight,’ I said. ‘He made a deal.’
‘A deal?’ Both Zee and Toby looked worried. ‘What kind of deal?’
‘We've got another passenger,’ I slurred. ‘Gary.’ ” (Gordon 242).

I really like that the author is always complicating things for Alex because when you think that everything is done and there is no trouble the author creates another problem that Alex needs to solve. I also liked who The author makes you reflect with this scenarios, I always think if I will do what they did in the story or if I wouldn't do it. If I had to make one decision like that to save a friend I will do exactly what Donovan did.

“‘No!’ screamed Donovan. ‘NoNoNoNo!’
Its soiled hand struck the bar of the cell, marking out a crude X on the metal.” (Gordon 257).

Why will the author condemn Alex or Donovan to such faith? My only logical explanation is for there to be a second book but why didnt the author choose someone else? I also saw that the author appeals to my feelings because he is making you feel sad because one of the two friends will be transformed into a monster.

Final Ideas And Conclusions
This book was really nice and I will definitely want to read more book from the same author. I will recommend this book to everyone who likes suspense and action book. This book has lots of mystery and it is really easy to understand. My final rating of this book will be  4.75 out of 5 because it was an excellent book but it didnt explained everything, it left some mysteries open.

More Trouble

Summary
This week reading start when Alex is searching for a way out and he discovers an underground river but in a room that they are not allowed in. Donovan and Zee did not like his idea and did not support him. One day a new kid arrived, his name was Gary, he was a psycho, and he fights against the skulls and beat them. Then Gary threads Alex and told Alex that he was going to fight against him. One night a different siren went on and a creature arrives, it was six feet tall and it had more muscles in him, his skin had many scarfs and it was strong. The man in suits let him in cell and it killed the person inside, when the creature was leaving Alex to recognize it, it was Monty. The next day Alex and Zee got in the prohibit room to take a look at the river but the rift that led to the river was really small, they needed to create an explosion so that they could go throw.

Interesting Thoughts Throughout The Book

“‘You’re marked. You’re mine. You’ll get your fight, little man’” (Gordon 187).

Who is this guy and why is he threading everyone. I think he has a problem or something because he is always looking for fights. I know that Alex is in trouble because Gary knows how to fight and Alex don’t. I think Alex should find a way out of furnace if he does not want to fight Gary.

“The rift in the floor way have split the cavern wide open lengthways, but the solid stone had only parted a few centimeters. Our way out was no wider than a fist” (Gordon 208).
This is a real problem. The only way to break through this stone will be with an explosion and how will they create them. They do not have much time because maybe one night they will be taken. Also, Gary has a disagreement with Alex so they need to find a solution quickly.

Final Ideas And Conclusions
This book just keeps getting better; it does not stop surprising me. I really like how the author created new villains and problems, how he creates more excitement in the story. I also like how when they find something they just have more problems. I don’t know what is worse to die by being taken or to be in a fight with Gary. I think that Alex is going to have a problem and will need to get out of there soon.

Strange Things

Summary
In this reading, Alex got to his cell just in time when the dog was about to give him a bite. Alex was saved from the dogs but not from the skull. The next day they weren't allowed food because of the incident. A few day later their labor was to work at the kitchen, Alex learned how to create the meal for everyone. In that night when they were sleeping, a siren turns on and didn't stop. Some people in a mask came to the cells and mark them with a cross. One of them stepped outside of Alex´s cell and he could see that the gas mask was attached to his face. The suit guys went to the cells that were marked and took a kid from each one, Donovan said that it was better to die than to be caught by them. The next day Alex Start talking about escaping.

Interesting Thoughts Throughout The Book
“You want a big reward for rescuing helpless little Monty? Well, you're not getting one… Now we're not even allowed any food. A whole day. It´s your fault.” (Gordon 121).

I don't understand what the kid who Alex had saved his life didn't thank him. He doesn't even thank him but he is blaming him for the punishment that they have. If I was Monty I will be thanked Alex for life for what he just did. I will like to have the guts that Alex has.

“‘They're attached to their faces,’ I told him. ‘The masks. I saw it last night. The metal is sewn into their skin.’”(Gordon 154)

What? How is that even possible. Can does strange things exist? Why will somebody permit that? I have lots of questions like if they are scientists or they are the lab rats.

Final Ideas And Conclusions
After finishing reading this chapters I was pretty shocked, I was also imagining a clear picture of this men and I had a hard time getting them out of my mind. I really like how the author creates this suspense by leaving everything open, most of the things in Furnace are not explained. I want to continue reading to know how this person got this masks sewn to their faces and why. I don't think If my prediction will be right but Alex will have another reunion with this men with the masks.

Big Troubles

Summary
In this week Alex, meet his new cellmate: a good kid called Donovan. He has been in here for five years. Donovan explained Alex that the worst punishment is to go to the hole: a place with not light at all, no food no communication and no water for three days. That day Alex went to work for the first time, he had a pick and he digs in a mine for three hours. When he was done, everyone went to eat and there was a gang called the skulls: where only murderers where allowed, making a boy lick everything they through to the ground. Alex did not like what he saw, so he attacks the skulls. In the middle of the fight, the alarm of lockdown sound and one of Alex’s friends called Zee went to rescue him just ion the time when the cells were closing and the dogs were fried to attack anyone outside from their cell.

Interesting Thoughts Throughout The Book
“Anyway, it´s just hole in the ground, just at the bottom of the prison, they lock you in it with no light or food and only a pipe for a toilet.” (Gordon 70)
OMG! What kind of prison can punish the kids this way? I do not think that I could survive even one day in the hole. I will probably be death before they can rescue me from there because I will be so desperate that I will lose my mind. I could not survive in such conditions.

“I angled to the side to avoid the next punch that came in, then planted my palms in the middle of the Skull´s chest and shoved with all my might.” (Gordon 100)
How can Alex be so good at fighting of he just played soccer and never practice anything about fighting? Is the adrenaline that makes you act that way or is it just instincts? I will like to be like him good at everything that he does.

Final Ideas And Conclusions
This week reading, keep me turning pages over and over again without stopping. I did not want to the chapters to finish. I really like how the author describes every place and everything that happened with lots of details. He uses the five scenes to make you feel that you are in the book and living next to Alex. I can predict that Alex will have bad consequences, not only with the man who runs the jail but also with the gang: The Skulls.

An Exciting Beginning

Summary
The new book that I am starting to read is called Lockdown and is written by Alexander Gordon. This story starts when Alex Sawyer, a teen age kid Tells that he is a kid with not much resources so he rob money for kids and he also stole houses when the owners were out of town. His next rob was going to be a house of two old people but when he and his friend Toby entered the house a group of people in black suits killed Toby and incriminated Alex. Every hint said that Alex was guilty so he was sent to a highly protected prison for young people called Furnace. This prison was underground and in there he met other kids who were incriminated as well and he met the man in charge, Warden Cross.

Interesting Thoughts Throughout The Book
“What´s the most scared you´ve ever been? Maybe at night, after a horror film, lying under your blankets convinced there´s a monster in the room…Multiply those feeling by a million and you get me wet running a fast as I could…to escape the people who had shot my best friend.” (Gordon 26)

I cannot imagine being in the position Alex is in. If I was him, I will probably go to see my mom and cry in her shoulder. I cannot imagine how desperate he is and that he cannot find somewhere to hide from what is happening.

“Beneath heaven is hell, boys, and beneath hell is Furnace. I hope you enjoy your stay.” (Gordon 59)

This were Warden Cross´ words when he send Alex in o Furnace. I will definitely be desperate and scared just by listening to does word. And, why will the boss be that mean to say something like that to the kid instead of encouraging him to be calm and do not cause trouble? What Class of person is this?

Final Ideas And Conclusions

I am already in the book waiting for what will happen next. I can compare this book to a series called Prison Break because in this series as in the book there is someone incriminated that goes to jail. I think that Alex is going to make some friends as well as enemies. He will be in trouble more than once and that he will need help. I cannot wait to know what is going to happen.

Good Author, Good Story

Summary
The final chapters of my book starts when Thomas tell the leaders that the only way out of the maze was through the Griever hole, they just need to put the code in a computer and the Grievers will die. That night 41 Gladers went in the maze, dozens of grievers where waiting for them. The Gladers distract the Grievers while Thomas, Teresa and Chuck entered the Griever hole and killed the Grievers. They found an open door and the creators and Gally were waiting for them. When the creator start explaining everything a rescue squad with guns arrived and put all the gladers in a bus. In the bus, the rescuers explained that the world had a disease and that all of them where orphans used for a scientific experiment.

Interesting Thought Throughout The Book
“‘It’s almost a suicide,’ Thomas said, knowing he was putting off the answer. ‘The Grievers will come after us whenever we try to do it. All of them. The final test.’ …
‘So where is it?’ Newt asked, leaning forward in his chair.
‘Over the Cliff,’ Thomas answered. ‘We have to go through the Griever Hole.’” (Dashner 309).

Yes, I knew it! I had predicted that they will go through the Griever Hole to investigate but this is better, they are getting out of the maze. If I was part of the Gladers I listen to this I wouldn’t know if I will be happy for finding a way out of here or sad because the way is a suicide. I would not like to be in that position I will not be braver to decide if going or staying.

“She glanced over at her companion, then reached out and pull the hood off the boy. He looked up, his eyes wet with tears. Every Glader in the room sucked in a breath of surprise. Thomas felt his knees buckle. It was Gally:” (Dashner 354).

Gally!!! He was supposed to be death.
If the grievers took him, Why is he the only one that survived the Grievers? Also, why did the Gladers had to risk their life and Gally just survived? I really do not understand why did the creators safe him.

Final Ideas And Conclusions

I really liked this book; definitely want to read the one that comes after this to see what their future is. I am also going to read more books about James Dashner, I love how he describes everything, all the clues and mysteries he uses in the story. I will rate this book a 4.5 out of 5 because only the ending was a little quick but I like the rest of the book. I had a nice summer reading this book as I predicted.

Risking Their Life

Summary
This week reading start when Thomas and Minho return to tell the good news about the Griever hole they discovered and they found out two things: The girl was awake and the doors did not close that night. The girl named Teresa become Thomas’ friend, and that night the Grievers appeared and just took one person: Gally. The next day Thomas had an idea: they should compare the maps of each day of the maze. They discover a few words that did not make sense so Thomas had another risky idea. The next night he got a Griever attention and he made it stun him on purpose. After all the process of pain he recovered and he had the memories that where needed to get out of the maze.

Interesting Thought Throughout The Book
“‘Slim it, boys! I just wanted to see if they went towards the Cliff. Towards the Griever Hole.’
‘And?’ Thomas said.
‘Bingo.’ Minho wiped sweat from his forehead.”(Dashner 261)

Minho is one of the most smart and brave person in the glade. He risked his life following the grievers just to get important information for the entire glade. I do not think I could had done something similar; I would not had the guts to follow a Griever.

“They needed more clues about the code. They needed Memories. So, he was going to get stung by a Griever. Go through the Changing. On purpose.”(Dashner 291)

I wish that I could be as brave as Thomas, first entering the maze at night, then help Alby, defeating the grievers, and now decided to combat a griever just to be stung by him. He is also smart because he always have plans that works perfectly. When I read this I did not knew why he was decided to do that but I knew that he was going to work and help them with solving the maze.

Final Ideas And Conclusions
As the entire book, these chapters had just being as exiting. I love how people in the maze risk their lives just to get out as soon as possible. It is easy to see how people help each other. No one does something for his own benefit, they always think in the entire Glade. I predict that at the end of the book Thomas is going to scape. I cant wait to know!
